Programs: Blender, Adobe Premiere Pro, Kling AI

Background

We were assigned to create a brand video for a product of our choice. Given the creative freedom of the project, I decided to explore working with AI as part of my process. While the initial idea and storyboard were entirely developed by me, the final video was produced with the assistance of AI tools.

Challenge

The first challenge was finding a suitable AI tool. This took some time, as I initially struggled with programs that produced unrealistic results such as characters with distorted features. Eventually, I settled on Kling AI, which was able to deliver closer to what I had in mind, although it still came with its own set of challenges.

Since AI tools require time to generate results, much of the process involved waiting. While the outcome was often worth it, there were occasions where the output showed little to no change from previous iterations, which could be frustrating. I also encountered common AI issues, such as random elements appearing in scenes where they didn’t belong, or the model unexpectedly compressing my entire storyboard into just a few seconds of footage.

Solution

In the end, I was able to resolve my challenges through continuous iteration and experimentation with Kling AI. I also managed to integrate my product into the video, even though the logo was not rendered perfectly.

Most of the issues came down to prompt clarity either my instructions were too vague, or I hadn’t specified enough detail. I found that achieving the desired result required carefully describing even the smallest elements of a scene.

One feature I particularly appreciated in Kling AI was the ability to define both a starting and ending frame using images. This made the process much more efficient and gave me greater control over the final outcome.

Result

After working with AI and exploring its capabilities, I came to the conclusion that there is still a long way to go before it can fully replace traditional creative workflows. I see it more as a supportive tool rather than something that can handle the entire process on its own.

I also felt that my creative control was somewhat limited, as the AI ultimately influenced how the final result turned out. Despite this, I found the experience both engaging and insightful. It was interesting to experiment with AI, and the final result came close to what I originally envisioned.
